EPL: Paul Merson has updated his top four predictions.

Paul Merson, an Arsenal legend, has made his top four predictions ahead of Manchester United's match against Aston Villa.

Newcastle and Manchester United, according to the former Premier League player, have already secured their places in the top four.

After the final round of matches, Arsenal and Manchester City have officially made the top four in the Premier League table this season.

This means that there are still two open positions.

Newcastle are currently in third place while United occupy the fourth-place with both teams at least six points clear of Tottenham in fifth having played fewer games.

Aston Villa, Liverpool and Brighton all still vying for a coveted top four slot.

Merson told Sportskeeda: “Villa trail United by six points in the table. But Manchester United have two games in hand over them. Personally, I think United have booked a berth in the Champions League.

“Newcastle did go through a dip in form but have now won seven out of their last eight games. Southampton don’t stand a chance against this high-flying Newcastle team.”
