According to the Defence Headquarters, troops from Operation Whirl Stroke raided a weapon fabrication factory in Wukari, Taraba, and apprehended two suspected gunrunners.
Maj.-Gen. Musa Danmadami, Director of Defence Media Operations, said in a statement on Saturday that the troops acted on credible intelligence.
Danmadami stated that the troops recovered two GPMGs, one KPM, four AK 47 rifles, three pistols, one PKT, five 9mm ammunition, two 7.63 x 54 ammunition, seven rifle butts, and various rifle parts on Friday.

He said the arrested criminals, recovered weapons and ammunition were handed over to appropriate authorities for further action.
“The military high command commends troops of Operation Whirl Stroke and encourages the general public to avail troops with credible and timely information on terrorists and all criminal activities within their area,” he said.
