The Economic and Financial Crimes Commision, EFCC, has arrested 19 students from Akwa Ibom State University, Mkpat-Enin, for suspected internet-related offences.
The suspects were apprehended on Friday at their private hostels, Obong Abasi Lodge and Mfon Obong Lodge, both in Ikot Akpadem, Akwa Ibom State's Mkpat-Enin Local Government Area.

Some of the suspects were alleged to be involved in romance scams, fraudulent cryptocurrency transactions and impersonation.
A number of laptops and mobile phones were recovered from them.
The Commission added that it will be charging the students to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
