An inferno is said to have destroyed some shops in Agbeni market in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The market, located in the heart of Ibadan, serves as the state's wholesale depot for all types of beverages and drugs.

General Manager of the state fire service, Rev Canon Yemi Akinyinka, explained that the agency received a distress call from a security man in one of the banks in the market.
He added that everything has been put under control.
“The agency received the distress call at exactly 04:37hrs through Mr Sunday Ogundele a security man at Access Bank in Agbeni market.
“Our men are still battling with the job, we are grateful to the Central Bank of Nigeria for allowing us use their water supply.
“They are still going to CBN to replenish. Everything is under control, sir”.
