Enyimba wins again on the road.

Enyimba, the eight-time champions, won the only away game on matchday 16. On Sunday, the Aba Giants defeated the El-Kanemi Warriors 1-0 in Maiduguri.

This season, Enyimba has collected 12 points on the road (P8, W4, L4). Only Bendel Insurance has had more in this campaign (P8, W3, D5).

Finidi George’s side need a win from their remaining two games to cement a place in the Nigeria Premier Football League Super Six.

Lobi Stars bounce back again

Group B leaders, Lobi Stars returned to winning ways again after a two-game barren run.

The Makurdi club defeated high-flying Niger Tornadoes in Jos 1-0, with Francis Odinaka scoring the decisive goal in the first half.

Mohammed Babaganaru’s side are now in a good position to play in the Super Six competition.

Wikki Tourists, Dakkada, El-Kanemi close to relegation

Wikki Tourists, Dakkada and El-Kanemi Warriors can begin to start planning for life in Nigeria National League (NNL) after another disappointing results on matchday 16.

Group B bottom club, Wikki Tourists were thrashed 3-0 by Rangers and will now need a miracle to stay afloat.

Dakkada went down to a 3-0 defeat to Abia Warriors in Umuahia and will need to win their remaining two games to have any chance of safety.

The situation is the same for Group A bottom club, El-Kanemi Warriors who must beat their remaining two opponents to avoid relegation.

Cash boost magic for Rangers

Rangers recorded their biggest win of the season against Wikki Tourists on Sunday. The Flying Antelopes defeated their guests 3-0 at the Akwa City Stadium.

Few hours to the game, Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Manfred Nzekwe visited the team’s hotel and promised each player N100,000 each if they beat the Bauchi Elephants.

Bendel Insurance show their invincibility again

Matchday 16 is gone and Bendel Insurance remain unbeaten this season. Gombe United fought hard at the Pantami Township Stadium on Sunday but were unable to breach Monday Odigie’s side defence.

The Benin Arsenals also have the best away record in the NPFL this season.

Insurance have two more games to equal the longest unbeaten streak (18) set by Akwa United two seasons ago.
