EPL: Pochettino gives his approval for his first Chelsea signing.

Incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has given his approval to the club's potential first signing, Manuel Ugarte.

Pochettinio, who will be introduced as Chelsea's new manager this week, wants to sign Ugarte from Sporting CP.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are understood to have indicated they are willing to pay Ugarte’s £52 million release clause in full and Pochettino is said to have sanctioned the move for the midfielder.

Pochettino’s former club, Paris Saint-Germain, are reported to have tabled a rival offer for Ugarte, but Chelsea are in pole position with the 22-year-old said to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

Ugarte could be the perfect midfielder to partner Enzo Fernandez in Chelsea’s central midfield next season.
