On Monday, May 15, singer Seun Kuti spent the night in police custody.
The singer, who turned himself in yesterday, was detained because police were unable to complete their investigation into assault allegations levelled against him. The singer was arrested after a video of him slapping and pushing a police officer surfaced online, according to the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali.

Seun was moved from the Lagos state police command headquarters in Ikeja to the State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba where he was interrogated into the night. He was then moved to a cell where he passed the night.
Police sources told LIB that depending on the outcome of his interrogation today, he may be arraigned in court.
