There is no Tiv community in Taraba willing to compromise criminal activities, according to Ayagwa.

Chief Joshua Ayagwa, President-General of the Tiv Culture and Social Association of Taraba State, stated on Tuesday that no Tiv community is willing to compromise on criminal activities.

In a statement, Ayagwa praised security personnel for their prompt intervention in ensuring the immediate release of the abducted Takum council Caretaker Chairman, Boyi Maja.

Maja was kidnapped last week along Takum/Wukari road, resulting in the gruesome murder of his police officer.

He urged the Tiv community leaders in the state not to cease from working round the clock to resist “anything that would truncate the peace and development of the state.”

He called on the released council chairman not to see anyone as a suspect that masterminded his abduction.

“I want the chairman to have the heart of a leader and let it pass for the interest of peace and development of Takum local government council and Taraba State at large,” he said.

The immediate release of the chairman, as opined by him, is not only a plus for the security, but also proofbthat both the state Governor Darius Ishaku and the entire Chanchaji community leaders are development minded Nigerians.

“The quick response of Governor Darius Ishaku and the cooperation given to the security operatives by community leaders in Chanchaji during the search for the chairman was a proof that both the Governor and Chanchaji people were development minded Nigerians,” he said.

The President-General, who also gave Ishaku thumbs up for his alleged swift action that saw heavy presence of joint security operatives and cooperation of community leaders in the area and the eventual release of the council chairman, said the Tiv ethnic group in the state, will continue to collaborate with the government to catapult the state to greater heights.
