Workers discover a woman's body inside a restaurant's freezer.

Workers at a Louisiana restaurant discovered the body of a fellow female employee inside a freezer.

The horrified workers discovered the body around 6 p.m. on Thursday, according to the police.

Officials said they are now awaiting the results of a coroner's autopsy in order to identify the victim and determine the cause of death.

The cause of her death has yet to be determined, according to New Iberia Police Captain Leland Laseter.

Laseter told local news networks that it was an employee that discovered the female deceased inside the cooler.

“So it was an employee that discovered the female deceased inside the cooler, (and) the deceased is an employee of the restaurant,” he said.

The Police Chief added that while the death looked suspicious, an accident may not be entirely ruled out.
