2023 Hajj: Kano's governor dismisses 44 centre officers.

Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, Governor of Kano State, has fired the 44 Centre officers in charge of coordinating the 2023 Hajj in their respective local government areas.

This was stated in a statement signed by Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, his Press Secretary.

According to the statement, the Governor replaced them with interim officers to coordinate the state's ongoing Hajj operations.

He, however, instructed the newly appointed officers to assume their responsibilities and report to the new Director-General of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board for further instructions at the Board’s Headquarters.

ChinyKo reported that hours after his inauguration, the Governor sacked Amb. Mohammad Danbatta, and appointed Alhaji Laminu Rabiu as the new Director-General of the Board.

This is coming hours before the commencement of the airlift of the state’s intending pilgrims.
