Ogun tribunal: Segun Showunmi Attack by suspected APC thugs (Video)

Segun Showunmi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, was beaten on Monday by thugs suspected of being All Progressives Congress (APC) loyalists.

The thugs ambushed Showunmi as he approached the entrance to the Isabo court premises, the venue of the Ogun State election petition tribunal.

The PDP governorship candidate was flogged with canes and assaulted physically, nearly falling into a ditch.

The party chieftain while trying to escape from his attackers was pursued with canes and stones.

Our correspondent who was at the scene of the incident reports that operatives of the police, the Amotekun Corps and others appeared to be unconcerned while the politician was being assaulted.

He was later whisked away by some men, leaving his car behind.
