Chief Chikanta of Kalomo district in Southern Province has urged his subjects to work with the government of the day.

Speaking at a public meeting in Kulyambeba, in Dundumwenzi yesterday, Chief Chikanta says it is only by working with the government of the day that meaningful development can be achieved in any given area.

And the traditional ruler has appealed to the government to build roads in the area.

He says farmers and civil servants in his chiefdom are facing a lot of challenges transporting farm produce and accessing services in Kalomo town.

And Patriotic Front – PF Chairperson for Southern Province, Lawrence Evans, has assured the residents of Kulyambeba, in Chikanta Chiefdom, that he will table their concerns and challenges to the government.

Mr. Evans further assured the residents that President Edgar Lungu is determined to develop Dundumwenzi despite having got a paltry two hundred fifty-three (253) votes in the 2016 general election.

He says President Lungu’s desire to develop Dundumwenzi has already been demonstrated through the grading of Dundumwenzi road and taking electricity and mobile network to the area.

Mr. Evans has praised Chief Chikanta for showing leadership to his people by lobbying for development for his people.
