LIVINGSTONE READY FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS

Southern Province Minister Edify Hamukale says the Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone is ready to receive travelers under the new COVID-19 health guidelines.

Dr. Hamukale says the airport management is working closely with the Ministry Of Health and the local authority to ensure the facility has all the necessary requirements as it starts to operate.

He has thanked President Edgar Lungu for re-opening airports in the country and said the move will positively help the economic fortune of the tourism sector after a rough couple of months due to the COVID-19.

Dr. Hamukale was speaking at the Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport after inspecting the facility to check on the preparedness following its reopening.

And Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport Manager Vivian Sikanyela said the airport has enough capacity to handle any airline under the new health guidelines.

Mr. Sikanyela however said as part of COVID-19 risk management, transit passengers will not be allowed to disembark the plane.
