Southern Province Malaria cases rise

Moombe Hamobola- Malaria cases in the Southern Province have increased by about fifty percent in the first quarter of 2020 as compared to the same period last year.

Chief Health Environmental Officer LIKANDO MUKELEBAI gave the update when he presented a report on malaria incidences at the Southern Province Epidemic preparedness prevention and management committee meeting in Livingstone.

Mr Mukelabai said the provincial administration is worried over the rise.

And Southern Province Permanent Secretary MWANGALA LIOMBA said there is a need to give attention to malaria even in the wake of the COVID-19.
