The National Council for Construction -NCC- has warned that the Council will not take lightly contractors that are not observing safety measures for their workers.
NCC Chief Executive Officer Matthew Ngulube says the Council has received reports and is currently handling several complaints involving construction companies whose workers had been working without safety boots.
Mr. Ngulube said this in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.
And Mr. ngulube says the council is carrying out its own independent tests on Lumumba, Great North and Mungwi Roads that were badly done by the contractor.
He said tests are meant to ascertain whether it’s the top layer or the base that needs to be redone and results are expected next week.
